Best Meatloaf

I have been craving meatloaf again and I am always looking for great recipes, I found this one and it looks pretty easy and with the addition of the cheese, num. I will be making mine with ground turkey though as I am not a fan of beef. Whichever meat you use it will be good!!


1½ pounds lean ground beef or ground turkey
1 cup  cracker crumbs
1 cup (240 grams) ketchup
2 eggs beaten
2 tablespoons  chopped green pepper
1¼ teaspoons  salt
1 medium bay leaf crushed
dash of marjoram and thyme
6 slices light cheese (or regular)


Pre- heat oven to 350° (180° celsius)
Combine all the ingredients together, combine well. 

Add half the meat mixture into a shallow baking dish, top with 3 slices of cheese and top with the other half of meat mixture. 

Bake approximately 1 hour. After the 40-45 minute baking time, remove from oven and top with the remaining 3 slices of cheese, return to oven to finish baking. Enjoy!
