The Autumnal Equinox and Apple Crisp!

Today is the Autumn Equinox, a day in scientific terms is when the Sun crosses the celestial equator, the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth's Equator, from north to south. This happens either on September 22, 23 or 24 every year.

The days will start to get shorter, preparing for long winter days. Equal 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark. A time for changing colors of the leaves on the trees, apple cider, decorating for Halloween and Thanksgiving.

I love this time of year, cooler days, crisp air, and the recipes. Apples and all the things you can do with them. From making jams and jellies to tarts and pies, crisps and cobblers. Mix the apples with cranberries and you can do so much.
